Two if By Sea

One of the oldest buildings in the area, the weathered Fish House at the shore holds great charm. As part of a working waterfront, this building was no small part of Salt Rose Farm’s livelihood. It stored fishing tackle, ships’ rigging, sails, along with small boats, salted fish, nets and barrels of tar. Fishing weirs at the north of the cove were also a mainstay. The Fish House is still used for boat and gear storage, and offers a scenic setting of two small beaches and two small islands. With its stone pier and adjacent boat ramp, it is perfect for photos – or take a quiet moment on a bench and look straight into a wide Atlantic morning. To seaward, a dock for all tides with deep water anchorage or mooring will accommodate a variety of vessel be it canoe, kayak, motor launch, daysailer, or yacht. Salt Rose Farm is no stranger to the boating world.
